The 64-year-old presenter, who appeared again on The Chase this weekend (June 1), first opened up about his health battle during an interview on This Morning back in 2017.

And now, fans are revisiting what was once a private issue that could have seriously impacted his career.
“I’m Going to Need Surgery”
While chatting with Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on This Morning, Bradley revealed that he suffers from a condition called blepharitis – a chronic inflammation of the eyelids.
“I have seriously bad blepharitis,” he admitted. “I have to take one pill every day for it or I really struggle. I’m going to need my eyes operated on at some point to sort it out.”
The actor and host added that he often receives comments about his eyes, which can appear swollen or red due to the condition. “So many times people have commented on how I look – but they don’t realise,” he said. “If I take the medication, I’m fine.”
What Exactly Is Blepharitis?

Blepharitis typically causes red, itchy, swollen eyelids and often results in flakes or crusts around the lashes. In more severe cases, sufferers may wake up with eyelids stuck shut.
While the condition isn’t life-threatening, it can cause complications like dry eyes, cysts, and conjunctivitis if not treated properly.

The NHS recommends daily cleaning of the eyelids using wipes, pads, or special eye drops. For ongoing or more severe cases, a visit to a local GP is advised.
“I Give Every Job 100%”
Despite his medical struggle, Bradley has always maintained a strong work ethic. Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph in 2017, he explained why he turns down many job offers.
“I don’t think I can plate-spin,” he said. “I’ve turned loads of things down because I just can’t get the time to do it. I can’t devote the time and it’s all about preparation.”
Bradley continued: “If I’m doing a job, I’ll give it 100% and that job gets my absolute focus. Everything else goes to the side. Then when that job is finished, I’ll concentrate on the next one.”
